U.S intervention in the Third World after WWII caused contempt and bitterness among Third World citizens. This is true throughout the conflict between the two groups Sandinista and Contra. The U.S had developed the Contra in order to help Sandinista rule, the U.S had assisted them by aiding them with military training and Cuba had given them weapons to fight with. The U.S had a specific goal in mind when creating the Contra, and it was to eliminate Sandinista rule and change the government. However, the citizens of Nicaragua charged them in court for military aggression. The World Court had found them guilty, but they were not charged with anything due to the power they wield. This made the U.S have to pull out the support they were giving the Contra. The U.S made the conflict between the two sides a lot more difficult when they started to provide more for the Contra.
The primary source document above is a secret letter that is explaining the use of new planes to drop resources into Nicaragua for the troops fighting inside the country. These resources had been provided by the other countries supporting the Contra as well as the U.S.
This piece of literature serves as a secondary source for the condition they had been in before the U.S. intervention and how they had worked without the "help" of the U.S.
