Conflicts in Nicaragua
Nicaragua has had many conflicts politically, economically, and with foreign countries. Nicaragua had been seen as a excellent trading point and interested many powerful nations. Some of them were U.S., Great Britain, Spain and the U.S.S.R. While the dictator past still was recent a government called the junta of five, which was a group of five people controlling the government processes. However this type of government became an issue in the later years. The junta government had been becoming more powerful and dominant with the expansion of land it controlled. This lead to the unfair distribution of wealth in the country, and the citizens became angry. Sympathizers of the Socialist Sandinista party and the Contra party began to come together and riots/protest against the government. This lead to the junta government falling. Then the Sandinista party rose into power. With they created socialist programs to help the country but gain a lot more power. The resemblance of communism with socialism made the U.S. begin to worry about losing the country. So the CIA funded the Contra party to fight against the Sand The Contras created terror and problems in the control of the Sandinistra party.
